County Committee Appointments

The Big Stone County Board of Commissioners appoints residents and local officials to serve on a variety of advisory boards, committees, and commissions. These groups provide input and recommendations to the County Board on matters that impact Big Stone County and its residents.

Purpose

Advisory boards and committees provide a community perspective, offer guidance, and make recommendations to the County Board on a variety of issues and topics. These groups serve in an advisory capacity and do not establish county or department policies, determine budget or resource allocations, or direct department operations.

Prospective Candidates and Vacancies

Big Stone County residents and representatives of local organizations are encouraged to apply and participate. All prospective candidates must submit an application (linked below). Appointments and reappointments are subject to approval by the Big Stone County Board of Commissioners.

Committee members may be eligible for per diem payments and mileage reimbursement in accordance with applicable county guidelines and the current IRS mileage reimbursement rate.
