The department manages the county’s financial operations—issuing payments, collecting revenues, preparing financial statements, and compiling the budget. It discovers, lists, and values all property for tax purposes; calculates tax rates; prepares statements and Truth in Taxation notices; and administers elections. The department also maintains official public land records and issues vital records and marriage licenses.
